Head Coach Brett Hughes is a black belt in Judo and combat Jiu Jitsu under Vernon Schlief Jr. Coach Hughes also holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a licensed instructor in self-defense. Coach Hughes provides the inspiration behind POWER program. He is accessible and works with individual students to achieve their fitness, athletic, and training goals.

Coach Myron Gaudet is also a lifelong practitioner of
reality based martial arts. He has been training for 25
years and teaching for 13. Myron holds a second degree
black belt in Minami Ryu Jujitsu and has helped train
several professional combat sports athletes. Myron also
served in Kosovo as a police trainer for the CIVPOL.
Myron is the inventor of the Alpha Hornet self-defense
device. (Device and training available at POWER Gym.)
He is joined by kick boxing expert Carl Mottet at POWER
gym on the week-ends.
Assistant Grappling Coach Danny Evans is a brown
belt in Judo, black belt in Jiu-Jitsu under Vernon Schlief
Jr., and a student of Catch Wrestling. Evans is Assistant
Grappling Coach for the adult program. He has been an
avid student of kettlebells for the last 4 years. Evans is
an HKC certified kettlebell instructor and is available for
private instruction. He is an avid supporter/student of
Tony Blauer's P.D.R. System, and was affiliated with Tony
Blauer for 7 years.
Kickboxing Coach William "The Ragin' Cajun"
Knorr is a kickboxing world champion. Knorr is
best known in American kickboxing circles for
having fought Rick Roufus twice, and also having
fought Jean-Yves Theriault. William Knorr
appeared in the TV show Combat Karate: The
World Championships. Knorr assists with fighter
training, kickboxing, and is almost always found in
the ring sparring with students of all ages and
ability levels.
Youth Coach Carlos Mena has over six years
experience coaching youth programs. A father
of two, he has developed a youth program that
is both fun and disciplined. Carlos is also in
charge of promotions for the POWER family and
recently promoted the Battle of New Orleans 19.
Assistant Coach Raymond Calligan, has been
instrumental in providing leadership and
instruction in our youth program from its
beginning. A father of two, Coach Calligan is
experienced in Judu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Mitchell Klein serves as Director
of Operations for POWER and is
the general manager for the
POWER Fight Team. Klein has
experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and
Tae Kwon Do.
The POWER staff specializes in training mixed martial artists of all ages.
Our gym is large enough to accommodate two classes simultaneously with
individualized instruction.

Jo Evans is an HKC certified kettlebell instructor.
She teaches a co-ed strength and conditioning
class working with kettlebells on Mondays and
Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. If you want to get ripped
and build your cardio at the same time, its time to
try a kettlebell work-out! You will need to schedule
an introductory session prior to joining the group
workout.
Charlie Rader is a professional MMA fighter and
Strike Fighter with a record of 10-4 in MMA and 1-0 in
Strike Fights. Charlie has been a trainer since 2002
and is certified through the American Fitness Council.
Currently a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Charlie also
has extensive experience in personal fitness, boxing,
and kickboxing.
